Meet Riley Koepsell

Let’s talk about relationships and sexual wellness…

I provide a wholistic approach in navigating a path of confidence and joy with individuals and couples. This includes guidance in sexual health & functioning along with emotional & physical intimacy. I believe in healing the whole person; past and present, for a fulfilling future. When in the therapy room, you can expect an empathetic, attuned and hope filled human being.

I specialize in supporting women through the intricacies of relationships, intimacy struggles, and life changes such as pregnancy and motherhood. I recognize the complexity and connections between these aspects of a woman’s life and offer a safe, non-judgmental space for you to navigate your unique journey. Whether you are working through difficulties in conception, grappling with the changes in relationships, or adjusting to the postpartum phase I’m committed to providing support.

As a dedicated sex therapist specializing in couples’ intimacy and relationship dynamics, I am committed to helping you and your partner navigate your unique journey towards a more fulfilling and satisfying connection. I understand the intricate dynamics of intimacy and communication, and my goal is to create a supportive environment where both partners can openly express their needs and desires. I work in facing challenges related to desire discrepancy, sexual dysfunction, communication hurdles, or exploring new dimensions of your sexual connection.

I’ve completed additional training in rediscovering sexuality after major life events such as: infertility, pregnancy, cancer and varying chronic illnesses (sexual difficulties tend to result from the illness itself, from the effects of treatment, and/or changes in intimacy with others).

Therapy Styles

Short Term (Solution-focused, etc.)
Ideal for those who are coming in with a specific problem they’d like to address and gain clarity on. Typically, short term therapies are present focused and do not dive deep into your past.

Structured
Structured therapies are goal and progress oriented. Therapists may incorporate psychoeducation and a specific “curriculum.” In order to stay on track, therapists may provide worksheets and homework.

Insight-oriented (Psychodynamic, Existential, etc.)
Exploring the past and making connections to present issues can help clients gain insight. Getting to the root of the issue and finding deeper self-awareness can help with long-term change.

Non-directive (Humanistic, Person-centered, etc.)
Going with the flow and seeing where it leads.

Behavioral (CBT, DBT, etc.)
Focuses on changing potentially unhealthy or self-destructive behaviors by addressing problematic thought patterns and specific providing coping skills.

Trauma Focused (EMDR, TF-CBT, etc.)
Recognizing the connection between trauma experiences and your emotional and behavioral responses, trauma focused therapy seeks to help you heal from traumas.
