Is there an example from your daily life where you practice what you preach?
As a therapist, I believe in the power of self-awareness, self-compassion, and intentional growth—principles I actively integrate into my own life. Therapy has been a part of my own journey, so I know firsthand the courage it takes to do the work. One way I practice what I preach is through mindfulness and emotional regulation. Just like I encourage my clients to tune into their emotions rather than avoid them, I take time to check in with myself daily—whether it’s through journaling, daily movement, or simply pausing to acknowledge how I’m feeling. I also prioritize setting boundaries and self-care, recognizing that I can’t pour from an empty cup. Whether it’s making space for rest, seeking support when needed, or challenging negative self-talk, I apply the same tools I offer my clients. Healing isn’t about perfection—it’s about consistency, self-compassion, and making intentional choices, and I strive to embody that every day.
How do you approach the stigma surrounding mental health and therapy?
I understand that the stigma around mental health can make it difficult to seek support. Many people feel pressure to “have it all together” or fear being judged for needing help. Having been to therapy myself, I know what it’s like to be on the other side—to feel vulnerable, uncertain, and hopeful all at once. That experience has shaped the way I show up as a therapist. I strive to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you feel truly seen and supported. I believe mental health is just as important as physical health, and seeking therapy is an act of strength, not weakness. Whether you’ve faced cultural stigma, internalized shame, or societal pressures, I’m here to help you break those barriers and reclaim your well-being.
How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?
My approach to therapy is shaped by integrity, collaboration, individualized care, and cultural competence. I believe healing starts with a safe, honest space where you feel truly seen and supported. Therapy isn’t something I do to you—it’s a collaborative process where we explore your unique experiences and work toward meaningful change together. I tailor each session to your needs, drawing from evidence-based approaches like EMDR, mindfulness, and somatic work. I also recognize the impact of culture and identity on mental health, ensuring therapy is inclusive and relevant to your lived experience. My goal is to help you break old patterns, reconnect with yourself, and step into a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.
