Most of my work is through the training received in Attachment-Based Family Therapy; a structured modality I use to treat couples and families. Additionally, I work with clients who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, or mood disorders. I’ve adopted a trauma-informed lens with a background rooted in addiction and generational trauma. Our treatment plan is a collaborative effort and we will work to prioritize and clarify your needs and goals in the first session.
What is one thing that you have learned through your own therapy?
I’ve gained a greater understanding of what it’s like to be on the other side of the room. This has led to more compassion and empathy as I walk alongside clients on their journey.
Is there an example from your daily life where you practice what you preach?
One of my “Golden Rules” is that I would not recommend anything to a client that I wouldn’t follow through with myself. In order to stay aligned, I have a daily meditation practice and implement self-care on a weekly-basis.
How have your personal experiences helped your work with your clients?
My personal experience led me directly to this field. It is not just a career for me, my personal growth is correlated to how I act in and out of session.
